The ZyXEL VMG1312-B10D features 802.11n technology to provide an ultimate combination for both speed and coverage. With 802.11n wireless data rates of up to 300 Mbps, the VMG1312-B10D provides stable, reliable wireless connections for high-speed data and multimedia applications; the 802.11n technology also empowers the device to eliminate dead zones and extend coverage while retaining backward compatibility with any certified device.

Firmware Note   This firmware will, by default, set the port labelled “LAN 4” to an EtherWAN port. In order to change this port to a LAN port follow these steps:
  1. Open an Internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) on your device (PC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet, etc.)
  2. Enter the LAN IP address of the VMG1312-B10D in the address bar
    ( [Default LAN IP of the VMG1312-B10D is])
  3. Enter the default username and password in the GUI.
    The default username and password is “admin”.
    For security purposes we strongly advise that you change the default login details.
    New Password: [Enter New Password for the Admin account]
    Verify New Password: [Verify the New Password]
    Press Enter on keyboard or click on Apply
    Move to the Network Setting > Broadband > Ethernet WAN page
  4. Select the Disable radio button at the ‘Active’ field
  5. Read message that pops up and click on OK
  6. Click on Apply
  7. VMG1312-B10D is busy Rebooting
  8. Once Login screen appears, VMG1312-B10D has finished rebooting.
  9. Connect a host to LAN port 4 using an Ethernet cable
  10. Host will receive a LAN IP Address from the VMG1312-B10D if DHCP is enabled, see below for example:
